Being a history buff, I love to post old family photos, and I figured a military theme would be appropriate for Memorial Day. I come from a long line of civilians, however. Nobody in my family got drafted. As farmers, the food we produced was critical to the war effort. So I swiped some very interesting photos from one of my wife’s albums. Arlys’ family was military on both sides and Rogers was her mother’s maiden name. Note that the World War I photo was taken 101 years ago! Despite my personal feelings about the many wars this nation has fought, I’ve always felt that veterans of those wars deserve our respect and support. These were men who went through hell for their country.
